INTRODUCTION TO BURLESQUE

Make Burlesque your new year's resolution and learn the art of the tease in 2026 with your Take It Off burlesque instructor Ruby Rascal!

This six week course will introduce you to the world of burlesque dance and performance, including beginners showgirl choreography, using burlesque props and some fun striptease moves! Suitable for newcomers to burlesque, and anyone who has attended classes before but has never performed in a burlesque show.

Classes will run every Sunday 6.30pm-7.30pm on the following dates:

18th January 2026
25th January 2026
1st February 2026
8th February 2026
15th February 2026

All classes will be held at Oxford House Creative Hub, Stonehouse. This is an accessible space with disability friendly parking nearby. Find the venue here -->

Class fee includes a pair of burlesque gloves to use in classes, rehearsals and maybe even onstage!

All bookings are non-refundable. In the event of Take It Off needing to cancel a class or series of classes, your booking will be transferred to our next cycle of classes.

Upon completion of the Introduction to Burlesque Course you will have the opportunity to join troupe rehearsals. These are weekly workshop classes that introduce more burlesque performance elements including costume development, learning choreography for group performance, striptease choreography, developing a solo act and specialist skills including fan dancing, chair dancing and bump n' grind technique.
